Shop on the Square Artist Spotlight: Kevin McLaughlin

Kevin McLaughlin has been designing for the past 27 years, starting his career in the fashion industry and moving on to home accessories.  Beginning in 1987, he has been designing the Mae Downs Collection, named after his inspiring aunt who urged him to pursue his career in design.

A great deal of research and time goes into everything that is created, using only the finest fabrics and supplies.  Kevin has a strong connection to the Art Alliance while participating in their Pop Up Shops and just opened his permanent shop of home accessories and boutique interior decoration in October at 1118 Pine Street in Center City, Philadelphia.  His work is expertly complimented by the vintage and antique China, Cushions and pillows, table linens, and French lavender sachets that are also sold at Mae Downs & Co.

He has designed custom accessories for the Ralph Lauren Home Collection when it was in Philadelphia at the Hotel Bellevue-Stratford and custom display items for Tiffany & Co. also at the Philadelphia location.

You can check out some of Kevin’s masterful home-goods at Shop on the Square; our week-long show, craft sale, and auction features thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted jewelry, accessories, tableware, toys, and much more at the Philadelphia Art Alliance.

Stop in Tuesday, December 4th through Sunday, December 9th, from noon to 7pm daily.
