One of the Art Alliance’s current exhibiting artists, Molly Hatch, will be teaming up with Rittenhouse Tavern Chef Nicholas Elmi for a special dinner, which will allow guests to experience ceramic art in a novel setting, right from the artist’s studio to the dining table.

Chef Elmi’s Asian inspired menu includes bay scallops with rhubarb and fava beans, truffle crusted wagyu beef with spring beans and perigordine, and caramelized white chocolate panna cotta with huckleberries, all of which will be served on exclusively designed tableware created by Molly and her ceramics students at RISD. Diners will be seated in the gallery, surrounded by Molly’s beautiful ceramic installation ‘Reverie’, on display until April 28th.

This unusual collaboration will highlight Molly’s explorations into the “dinner plate as a painting surface” and the role that visual presentation plays in the dining experience.

The unique presentation won’t end at dessert, however.  Tickets include the place setting as a gift, so at the end of dinner guests can take home the piece of art they dined upon and put it on their wall…or on their table.
